What this site is
Pawprint is an independent editorial project about dog and cat care. We publish guides, breed references, reviews and everyday tools such as the age, weight and lifestyle calculators. Everything here is written to inform and to help you ask better questions — it is not a diagnosis, a prescription, or a replacement for a veterinary examination.
Breed weights, calorie estimates, age conversions and similar figures are editorial approximations built from published care and nutrition sources. They are deliberately cautious, and two healthy pets can sit outside them without anything being wrong.
Using the site
You may read, share and quote small extracts with a link back to us.
In return we ask that you:
- Use the site for your own reading and learning, not to resell our work.
- Leave the content intact when you quote it, and credit Pawprint.
- Avoid automated harvesting of the guides, breed data or images at a scale that substitutes for reading the site itself.
- Refrain from uploading material you have no right to share, or from probing the site in ways that could disrupt it for other readers.
We may limit or close access where these rules are clearly ignored. That is a last resort, not a first move.
Your account
Signing in with Google gives us your name, your profile picture and your email address — nothing else from your Google account. You are responsible for keeping your own sign-in safe, and for anything that happens while you are logged in. If you notice unfamiliar activity, tell us and we will look into it.
Publishing inside the editorial studio is a separate, deliberately narrow permission. It is granted to named people only, and it does not come with access to other readers' accounts.
What you send us
If you write to us, submit a story idea or upload an image through the studio, you keep ownership of what you made. You give us permission to display it on Pawprint and to mention it in our own promotion of the site. Please only send things you are entitled to send — especially photographs.
We are not a hosting service for private files. Uploads exist to illustrate articles, and material that serves no editorial purpose may be removed.
Reviews and independent views
Product and service opinions on this site are our own editorial assessment. Where something was supplied to us or an affiliate arrangement exists, the article says so plainly. Nothing on Pawprint should be read as a guarantee that a product will suit your individual pet.
Changes and availability
Articles are corrected, tools are reworked, and pages occasionally move. We try to keep things accurate and current, but we do not promise the site will always be available or error-free. If you spot something wrong, tell us and we will check it.
The limits
Pawprint is provided as it stands. Within the limits the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from reading the site or from acting on it without professional advice. If your pet is unwell, frightened, injured or in pain, contact your veterinary practice — or an emergency clinic — rather than a browser tab.
